As used in this title, unless the context otherwise requires, the words and terms defined in this chapter have the meanings ascribed to them herein:
APPLICANT: A person or entity seeking a permit.
CAMPING: No person shall set up or leave equipment designed or intended for use for sleeping in any county park except in areas designated and posted for that purpose.
A. No person under the age of eighteen (18) may camp in any county park unless accompanied by a parent or guardian or is part of a group permitted to occupy a county park and is supervised by at least one responsible adult per fifteen (15) juveniles.
DIRECTOR: The county manager and/or their designee.
FAIRGROUNDS: The Lyon County Fairgrounds.
OBSCENE: Has the meaning ascribed to that word in Nevada Revised Statutes 201.235(4).
OPEN SPACE: An area designated by the board that is typically used for floodwater control, detention or storage and may also be designed and operated as multipurpose recreational facilities.
PERMIT: A written authorization from the director, issued pursuant to the provisions of this title, to conduct a special event in a county park.
PERMITTEE: A person or entity which has received a permit to conduct a special event.
RANGE MASTER: A person designated by the director to supervise the safe operation and use of a shooting facility, or, if no such person shall be designated, the director.
SHOOTING FACILITY: An area designed and used for archery or sport shooting, including, but not limited to, sport shooting that involves the use of rifles, shotguns, pistols, silhouettes, skeet, trap, black powder or other similar items.
SPECIAL EVENT: A group activity which is not normally conducted in the county park system.
VANDALISM: Any wilful or intentional disruption, damage, removal, defacement, or injury to any property in any county park. "Vandalism" does not include maintenance of the county park system by employees or those contracted by the county to perform such maintenance. (Ord. 498, 2-16-2006, eff. 3-13-2006; amd.
