7.01.03: ANIMAL SERVICES OFFICER:
   A.   Authority: The animal services officer is empowered to:
      1.   Enforce all provisions of this chapter, including the power to issue misdemeanor citations for violations of this chapter and related matters.
      2.   Take into custody and safely keep any animal(s) found to be in violation of the provisions of this chapter.
      3.   Remove from any property any animal(s) when necessary for the protection of the animal(s) or the general public.
   B.   Interference With Animal Services Officer: No person shall interfere with or resist any animal services officer while engaged in the performance of their duties pertaining to the enforcement of this chapter.
   C.   Consult With State Veterinarian: In the performance of his/her duties, the animal services officer and his/her authorized representative will consult with the state veterinarian or their representatives concerning the type and method of use of all drugs to be utilized.
