If any provision, clause, sentence or paragraph of this subchapter or the application thereof to any person or circumstances shall be held invalid, that invalidation shall not affect the other provisions of this subchapter which can be given effect without the invalid provision or application, and to this end the provisions of this subchapter are declared to be severable.
