The Director of Law shall be the chief legal adviser of all offices, departments and agencies and of all officers and employees in matters relating to their official powers and duties. The Director of Law shall represent the City in all legal proceedings. The Director of Law or assistant shall be the Prosecutor in the Mayor's Court or police court. It shall be their duty to perform all services incident to his position as may be required by statute, by this Charter, or the City Administrative Code, or other ordinance. All the employees of the Department of Law except the Director, any assistant or deputy, and the Director's confidential secretary shall be in the classified service.
