335.15 POLICE REPORT REQUIRED.
   (a)   The driver of a vehicle involved in an accident due to the operation of any vehicle on the streets and highways resulting in injury to or the death of any person, or any property damage, shall, within twenty-four hours thereafter, make a written report containing his name, address and the license number of the vehicle involved to the Police Department of the City.
   
   (b)   The driver of a vehicle involved in an accident due to the operation of any vehicle on the streets and highways resulting in injury to or the death of any person, or any property damage, shall, within twenty-four hours thereafter, make a written report containing complete information about such accident, including names of witnesses, to the Police Department of the City; provided, however, that no such person shall be required to furnish or give any information in violation of his rights under the Constitution of the State or the Constitution of the United States of America.
   (c)   Whenever the driver of a vehicle is physically incapable of making any required accident report and there was another occupant in the vehicle at the time of the accident capable of making a report, such occupant shall make, or cause to be made, such report.
   (d)   The owner of the motor vehicle, who causes it to be let for hire to another person, or having loaned such vehicle to another person and having knowledge that the vehicle has been involved in an accident within the corporate limits of the City, and upon discovery of damage to such vehicle, shall cause a report of the damage together with the name and address of the driver, if known, to be made to the Police Department unless the driver of either of the vehicles involved in the accident has previously furnished the Police Department with information regarding such accident as required by law.

   (e)   Whoever violates any provision of this section is guilty of a minor misdemeanor on a first offense; on a second offense within one year after the first offense, the person is guilty of a misdemeanor of the fourth degree; on each subsequent offense within one year after the first offense, the person is guilty of a misdemeanor of the third degree.
