949.01 WATER TAPS; CONSTRUCTION FOR NEW CONNECTIONS; APPLICATION FORM.
   (a)    Property owners requiring a new water service connection shall file a written application with the City Manager and shall accompany same with a fee. Upon approval of the application by the City Manager, a permit shall be issued and the fee will be deposited according to the City’s Deposit Policy.

   (b)    Fee shall be collected for subsection (a) according to the following schedule:
      (1)    (EDITOR’S NOTE: Former subsection (b)(1) was repealed by Ordinance 05-56, passed December 19, 2005.)
      (2)    (EDITOR’S NOTE: Former subsection (b)(2) was repealed by Ordinance 05-56, passed December 19, 2005.)  
       (3)    The contractor will do the road opening and road repair on all taps outside the City. Contact Nimishillen Township for necessary road bond. Contractor is responsible for all digging and back-filling on outside City taps. City includes pipe from corporation valve to curb box.
            The Contractor will be responsible for obtaining necessary road opening bond from Nimishillen Township for all taps outside the City. Contractor will do road opening and road repair on all taps outside the City in accordance with Nimishillen Township road bond requirements.
            For taps less than 4", pipe will be provided by the City from the tap valve to the curb box. For taps over 4", the valve inserted at the tap side will be used as the controlling valve for the proposed construction, no additional valves or pipe will be provided.
   (c)    The fee and charge required shall cover all cost for labor and materials for the connection from the main to the curb except regarding large taps over four inches as noted. All fees and charges provided for in subsection (b) hereof shall be waived for a developer who has installed water lines from main to curb box at own expense.
