238.03 ACTING CHIEF.
   In the absence or disability of the Chief of Police, the Captain shall act as Chief Pro-Tem and shall have the same duties and powers as the Chief of Police. In the absence or disability of both the Chief of Police and the Captain, then the highest ranking police officer, then employed by the Village of Loudonville Police Department, shall act as Chief Pro-Tem and shall have the same duties and powers as the Chief of Police. If the Chief of Police is absent in excess of thirty days, the Captain, or the next ranking officer serving as Chief Pro-Tem, shall be paid at the same rate as the Chief of Police for every day of service in excess of the initial thirty days on a prorated basis.
