It shall be unlawful for any owner, proprietor, lessee, agent or manager of any public dance hall, or the agents, employees or servants of any owner, proprietor, lessee, agent or manager, to knowingly permit within said hall or in any room, passage, stairway or entrance thereto or exit therefrom any violation of any of the ordinances of the town; or to permit any drinking of intoxicating liquors therein; or to permit any persons to enter said dance hall while under the influence of intoxicating liquors or to remain in said hall while so intoxicated; or to permit any person or persons to commit any indecent or immoral act or engage in any disorder of lewd or vulgar character; and a town officer, upon the happening of any of the aforesaid offenses in any public dance hall where any dance is being held, if he or she sees or has cause to believe that any such offense was done or committed with the knowledge or permission of, or acquiescence in, by the owner, proprietor, lessee, agent or manager, shall arrest him or her and, upon conviction before the Mayor, such hall shall be deemed a public nuisance and such police officer is hereby given the power and authority at any time, in his or her discretion, to cause said hall to be vacated and the dance closed.
