SEC. 69.18. DUTY UPON COLLISION.
 
   (a)   The operator of any vessel involved in a collision with any other vessel or with any other object shall immediately notify the owner of the struck vessel of the name and address of the operator and/or owner of the striking vessel, and shall further immediately report the incident and furnish the same information to the Harbor Master. Failure to render both said notice and said report shall be a violation of this article.
 
   (b)   The rendering of the notice and report aforementioned in this section shall not exonerate any boat operator or owner from rendering accident reports required by the California Harbors and Navigation Code or any other reports required by state law.
