Resettlement franchises may be granted to a public utility operating in the City of Los Angeles under more than one franchise issued for different periods and for different expiration dates, for different parts of its system, which resettlement franchises shall be in lieu of all other franchises held by it within the corporate limits of Los Angeles. Such resettlement franchises shall be for a fixed term, as otherwise provided in this chapter, and shall provide for the surrender of all other franchises held by the Grantee in conflict therewith. Such resettlement franchise may be granted in accordance with the provisions of this chapter.
