A Business Improvement District is a designated area of the City of Los Angeles which is established by action of the City Council for the purpose of assessing the businesses within the area, or the property owners within the area, for improvements and activities that benefit the businesses within the area as set forth Section 36500 et seq of the California Streets and Highways Code, or any successor statutes.
