(a) No person under the age of eighteen years shall operate a motorized bicycle or motorcycle without wearing a protective helmet made to safety specifications as required under Section 377.04. If the motorized bicycle or motorcycle is not equipped with an adequate and correctly adjusted windshield, the operator shall wear a plastic face guard, goggles, sun glasses or ordinary eye glasses in lieu thereof.

(b) Whoever violates any provision of this section is guilty of a minor misdemeanor on a first offense; on a second offense within one year after the first offense, the person is guilty of a misdemeanor of the fourth degree; on each subsequent offense within one year after the first offense, the person is guilty of a misdemeanor of the third degree.
(a) No person under the age of sixteen years shall ride a motorized bicycle or motorcycle as a passenger without wearing a protective helmet. Every protective helmet must include the wearing of a plastic face guard, or wearing of goggles, sun glasses or ordinary eye glasses in lieu thereof. (Ord. 153-81. Passed 11-2-81.)
