911.406 TAPS - SERVICE SIZE - MATERIALS.
   (a)    All taps and public services, shall be at least one (1) inch in diameter. The Utilities Department in cooperation with the Engineering Department shall determine the size of the tap and services, commensurate with the amount of water and type of usage expected.
   (b)    Services two (2) inches and smaller shall be Type "K" soft copper or plastic that complies with the American Water Works Association (A WWA) standard C-901.
   (c)    Services over two (2) inches shall be Type "K" copper or plastic that complies with AWWA standards C-900 or C-909, or Ductile Iron Pipe (DIP) that complies with AWWA C-151.
   (d)    No other type of material including but not limited to iron (except that stated in (c), steel, or galvanized iron or steel shall be used from the tap to the curb stop and from the curb stop to the meter setting of the property. (Ord. 151-23. Passed 7-17-23.)
