A. Monument Signs: Monument signs shall be no more than six feet (6') in height and shall not be placed in the vision clearance triangle as required in section 12-14-4 of this chapter, unless the sign is no more than forty two inches (42") in height above the level of the adjacent street or the grade level at the sign, whichever is lower, and is not located within four feet (4') of the property line or driveway. B. Freestanding Signs: The maximum allowable height of a freestanding sign is as set forth in section 12-14-5 of this chapter. Freestanding signs may be located in the vision clearance triangle, provided:
1. The lowest edge of the sign shall be at least eight feet (8') above the ground;
2. The sign shall be supported by no more than two (2) support columns, each measuring no more than eight inches (8") in diameter and located at least three feet (3') apart; and
3. The support columns shall be located at least four feet (4') from the property line and any driveway and the outermost edges of the sign shall be located at least two feet (2') away from the property line and any driveway.
4. Freestanding signs located outside of the VCT are not subject to these requirements. (Ord. 891, 4-13-2013)
