A. The city attorney shall be an advisor to the chief executive officer and to the municipal council.
B. The city attorney shall give the city government, including its directors and managers, legal counsel and advice dealing with the business of the city. The city attorney shall draft all ordinances, resolutions and contracts when called upon to do so and shall represent the city in all legal actions wherein the city is a party. The attorney shall perform all other functions required by law. (Prior code § 2-1-2(e),(j)(1))
