(A) Any individual, partnership, corporation or other entity engaging in an alarm business within the city shall apply to the Police Alarm Administrator of the city for a license to operate. Alarm businesses already engaged in providing services and/or alarm system equipment in the city on the effective date of this chapter shall submit an application for a license no later than 90 days from the effective date of this chapter. Said applicant may continue to do business while his license application is being processed. An applicant not previously engaged in providing services as an alarm business in the city on the effective date of this chapter shall not commence doing business until his application is approved.
(B) The application for an alarm business license shall be on a form to be furnished by the Police Department. The application shall be signed by the applicant, if an individual, by at least one partner, if a partnership, by the president or chief officer of a corporation or other organization, or by a duly authorized representative.
