For the purposes of this chapter the following words and phrases shall have the following meanings ascribed to them respectively.
ARBORICULTURE or TREE PRESERVATION. The treating, spraying, pruning, or maintaining of trees and any other care or work intended for the strengthening of trees and the removal and prevention of tree pests, blights, and diseases of any and all kinds.
CITY. The City of Logan.
DIRECTOR. The Director of Public Service- Safety of the city.
PERSON. Any person, firm, partnership, association, corporation, company or organization of any kind.
PUBLIC PLACE. Any public street, public park, any property owned or held by the city or any area over which the city has a right of easement to maintain trees.
SHADE TREE COMMISSION. The administrative commission established in Chapter 93 of the Administrative Code.
STREET TREE or TREE. A tree or shrub in a public place, except where otherwise indicated.
SUPERINTENDENT. The Superintendent of Parks, Lands, and Trees.
