(A) The police department shall provide numbered license tags together with registration cards bearing numbers corresponding with the tags; such tags shall be suitable for attachment upon the frame or rear fender of the bicycle, and it shall be the duty of the police department to issue to each owner one tag which shall be attached by the owner as herein provided, and to issue a corresponding registration card to the owner upon payment of the license fee hereinafter provided for. The tag shall remain attached to the bicycle for which it is issued during the existence of the license, and shall be kept in such a condition as to be read easily.
(B) The operator of a bicycle shall display his registration card or produce satisfactory proof that such bicycle has been registered, upon the demand of any officer of the police department.
