Renewal or assignment of contracts for fire protection service shall be made as in the case of original applications. Applications for renewal shall be made not less than 60 days before the expiration of the established contract. Should any real estate protected under the provisions of this chapter be sold, conveyed, or transferred, then in the that event it is permissible to assign the contract for fire protection under this chapter to the purchaser or transferee thereof providing such assignment be first approved in writing by the mayor with the approval of the chief of the Logan Fire Department.
