7-11-3: DIRECTION OF TRAFFIC; OBEDIENCE REQUIRED:
   A.   Direction Of Traffic:
      1.   Officers of the Police Department or any officers designated by the Chief of Police are hereby authorized to direct traffic by voice, hand or signal in conformance with traffic laws and ordinances. In the event of a fire or other emergency or to expedite traffic or to safeguard pedestrians, officers of the Police Department may direct traffic as conditions may require notwithstanding the provisions of the traffic laws and ordinances.
      2.   Officers of the Fire Department, when at the scene of a fire or other emergency, may direct or assist the police in directing traffic in the immediate vicinity. (2014 Code § 15-202)
   B.   Obedience To Police And Fire Officials: No person shall wilfully fail or refuse to comply with any lawful order or direction of a police officer or Fire Department official invested by law with authority to direct, control or regulate traffic. (2014 Code § 15-204; amd. 2018 Code)
   C.   Direction By Unauthorized Persons: No unauthorized person shall direct or attempt to direct traffic, except in case of emergency where no officer is present. (2014 Code § 15-203)
