§ 30.999 PENALTY.
   (A)   Any person violating any provision of this chapter for which no specific penalty is prescribed shall be subject to § 10.99.
   (B)   If a person, firm, or corporation owning any resident motor vehicle or vehicles within the city fails to obtain a motor vehicle privilege license as required by §§ 30.001 through 30.005, he, she, or it shall be charged a penalty and interest by the Tax Collector and shall be subject to a fine and/or penalties as provided by the general statutes of the state.
   (C)   A violation of any of the provisions contained in §§ 30.020 through 30.055 shall be punished as follows:
      (1)   Criminal remedies. Conducting business within the City of Locust without having paid the privilege license tax imposed by §§ 30.020 through 30.055, or without posting a license in compliance with § 30.046 is a misdemeanor, punishable as provided in G.S. § 105-109. Each day that a person conducts business in violation of this subchapter is a separate offense. Payment of a fine imposed in criminal proceedings in accordance with this section does not relieve a person of the liability for taxes imposed under §§ 30.020 through 30.055.
      (2)   Equitable remedies. In addition to the criminal remedies set forth in division (C)(1) of this section, and in compliance with G.S. § 160A-75(d), the city may seek an injunction against any person who conducts a business in violation of §§ 30.020 through 30.055.
