§ 2-3-6 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.
   (A)   Recommend, plan, organize and carry out projects, programs and activities that enhance the beauty of the community, promote wholesome community activities, improve the quality of life of the residents, protect public safety and assist community members from all walks of life including youth, senior citizens, disabled residents and the economic disadvantaged;
   (B)   Plan, organize, promote and carry out community wide activities and celebrations including, but not limited to, national holidays, dramatic events, parades, exhibits, pageants, tournaments, contests, games, races, meals served to the public, and any reasonably safe form of entertainment or recreation open to all residents of the city;
   (C)   Plan, organize, promote and carry out education community campaigns and activities that promote good physical and mental health, proper nutrition, immunization, disease prevention, exercise and healthy lifestyles;
   (D)   Plan, organize, promote and carry out public safety education campaigns in cooperation with the Police Department and Fire Department to enhance public safety, prevent crime and keep residents safe from fire;
   (E)   Work in partnership with the Livingston Historical Museum Foundation to preserve the history of the city and collect appropriate writings, pictures, artifacts and other items of historical interest;
   (F)   Promote, produce and encourage performances or displays by local, regional and national artists;
   (G)   Disseminate news and information regarding the community within the city and conduct public relations activities as are consistent with the purpose of the Committee;
   (H)   Initiate, sponsor and promote involvement, activities and contributions by the private sector; and
   (I)   Carry out other projects, programs, events and activities as directed by the City Council.
