Violation of any section of this chapter or Chapter 9.56 of the Merced County codes by the proprietor or practitioner shall constitute a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be punishable by a fine not to exceed $1,000 per day per violation or by imprisonment in the county jail for a term not exceeding six months, or both such fine and imprisonment or an infraction pursuant to Merced County codes § 1.20.020. Each day the violation continues and is not corrected shall be treated as a separate and distinct violation.
