§ 34.020 THEFT, TRESPASS, OR OBSTRUCTION AT SCENE OF FIRE.
   A commanding officer or officers of the Fire Department or police officers shall, during any fire, arrest any person apprehended for or suspected of stealing or trespassing on any property or for hindering, resisting, or obstructing any officer or other person in the discharge of his or her duty or for neglecting or refusing to obey the lawful command of any officer or for conducting himself or herself in a riotous or disorderly manner and, if necessary, detain him or her in custody or commit him or her to confinement for safekeeping until he or she can be given a hearing before a court of proper jurisdiction.
