§ 31.060 APPOINTMENT; QUALIFICATIONS.
   (A)   The Mayor shall appoint a City Attorney, by and with the advice and consent of the City Council. The Attorney shall be licensed by the State Supreme Court to practice law in this state. He or she shall serve from that period thereafter, or until his or her successor is appointed and qualified.
   (B)   The City Attorney so appointed shall qualify and possess the authority and perform the duties prescribed in this subchapter.
