§ 117.10 CAB STANDS.
The Police Chief is granted authority, subject to the advice and consent of the Council, to establish individual cab stands on certain locations on public streets for individuals having licenses to operate taxicabs. Each cab stand shall be approximately marked by a sign painted by the city on the curb and a standing metal sign, furnished by the licensee, with appropriate wording. It shall be unlawful for any vehicle, other than a licensed taxicab, to park in any cab stand. Issuance of a license to operate a taxicab shall not automatically entitle the licensee to a cab stand, for it shall be the policy of the Police Chief and the City Council to limit and restrict the number of cab stands insofar as is practicable.
