The City Council may require any officer of the city, who is required by ILCS Ch. 65, Act 5, § 3.1-10-30, to give a bond, to furnish additional security, or execute a new bond, whenever the security of the original bond has become insufficient by the insolvency, death, or removal of the sureties, or any of them, or when, for any cause, the bond shall be deemed insufficient. Any officer who shall fail to furnish additional security or give a new bond, when so required by the City Council, within 10 days after he or she is notified in writing of the requirement, shall be deemed to have vacated his or her office.
