Unless duly authorized in writing by the city, no person shall in zones A, B, C, or D maintain or operate any garage, restaurant, confectionary, refreshment parlor, dance hall, hotel, inn, place of amusement for hire, store, or stand for the sale of merchandise. Any license issued therefor by the city shall be kept conspicuously posted in the place of business or establishment.
