§ 96.101 EXHAUST SYSTEMS; MUFFLERS.
   (A)   Exhaust gases. No person shall operate, or cause to be operated, any boat or craft equipped with a motor or internal combustion engine, regardless of whether that motor or engine may be temporarily or permanently attached to that boat or craft, on any of the waters of the reservoir, unless the motor or engine is equipped with an efficient muffler, in good working order and in constant operation so as to prevent excessive noise and annoying smoke.
      (1)   No outboard motor or internal combustion engine shall be deemed equipped with an efficient muffler unless exhaust gases are discharged under water or are so muffled as not to be noisier or more annoying than an internal combustion engine of like power equipped with an underwater exhaust.
      (2)   No inboard motor or internal combustion engine shall be deemed equipped with an efficient muffler unless the exhaust gases are condensed and silenced by the continuous circulation of water through the exhaust pipe, or are so muffled as not to be noisier or more annoying than when so condensed and silenced by water circulation through the exhaust pipe of an internal combustion engine of like power.

   (B)   Only boats with specific exhaust systems permitted. No boats shall be allowed on Lake Lou Yaeger, located in this county, unless those boats have an exhaust system which causes their exhaust to be under water when at rest.
