7-9-2: GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
   (A)   Streetlights shall be designed in accordance with the national electrical code as well as the American national standard practice for roadway lighting report RP-8, prepared by the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America. All street lighting equipment shall be certified by Underwriters Laboratories.
   (B)   Streetlights in residential subdivisions shall be spaced approximately one hundred eighty (180) to two hundred feet (200') apart and shall be located in line with side yard property lines wherever feasible. Additional streetlights shall also be provided at intersections, sharp curves and dead ends. Streetlights in commercial, business or industrial areas shall be spaced to provide lighting levels recommended by the American national standard practice for roadway lighting report RP-8 and photometric calculations shall be submitted to the village engineer for review and approval.
   (C)   Streetlights shall be placed six feet (6') behind the back of curb. Barrier curb shall be provided in front of all streetlights to ensure that they do not constitute a roadside hazard.
   (D)   Street lighting systems shall include a pedestal box containing a main circuit breaker located as close as possible to the electric service drop. The pedestal box shall have a locking cover and shall be clearly labeled “Street Lighting”.
   (E)   Poles: Streetlight poles shall be reinforced prestressed concrete, octagonal in cross section with a central cable raceway, and suitable for butt type mounting. The poles shall have a black, natural polished finish. The poles shall be equipped for cable entrance from below ground level and shall have a wiring handhole with an aluminum cover above finished grade.
