The following restrictions shall apply to parking upon municipal parking lots, as regulated by this chapter:
(A) It shall be unlawful to park a vehicle in more than one parking space as designated by curb and striping. The fine for violating this subsection shall be as established by Title 1, Chapter 20, “Fees, Fines, Insurance, Guarantees, and Regulatory Measures”.
(B) Certain parking spaces in the aforesaid parking lots shall be designated as parking spaces for disabled persons. Qualifications for parking in aforesaid spaces shall be secured by the ability of the permittee to obtain a disabled license plate for the vehicle for which the permit is secured from the secretary of state. Violation of this subsection shall carry a fine as established by Title 1, Chapter 20, “Fees, Fines, Insurance, Guarantees, and Regulatory Measures” for each offense. A citation written for a violation of this section may be settled and compromised according to the procedures set forth in section 9-4-22 of this code and is subject to increase pursuant to subsection 9-4-22(F) of this code.
(C) It shall be prohibited in the aforesaid parking lots to back a vehicle into a parking space except for police emergency vehicles. Violation of this subsection shall carry a fine as established by Title 1, Chapter 20, “Fees, Fines, Insurance, Guarantees, and Regulatory Measures” for each offense.
(D) It shall be unlawful to park, stand, or stop a vehicle in a manner which blocks the progress of other vehicles through any aisle, or which blocks a parking space. The foregoing shall not prohibit temporary stopping of a vehicle if it is done for the purpose of waiting for the immediate exit of another vehicle from a parking space, or if the stopped vehicle's progress is impeded by traffic. The fine for violating this subsection shall be as established by Title 1, Chapter 20, “Fees, Fines, Insurance, Guarantees, and Regulatory Measures”. (Ord. 2003-3439, 1-20-2003; amd.
