The Electrical Code of the Village of Lisle, as hereinbefore adopted, is amended in the following respects:
(A) Article 110, Requirements for Electrical Installations, is amended to:
1. Delete 110.5 and replace with:
110.5 Conductors. Conductors normally used to carry current shall be of copper. Where the conductor material is not specified, the material and sizes given in this Code shall apply to copper conductors.
(B) Article 210, Branch Circuits, is amended to:
1. Modify 210.19 as follows:
210.19 Conductors - Minimum Ampacity and Size. Insert: The minimum size conductor for use in residential wiring systems shall be #14 AWG. The minimum size conductor for use in nonresidential wiring systems shall be #12 AWG.
2. Modify 210.21 as follows:
210.21 Outlet Devices. Insert: All outlet devices in nonresidential uses shall be a minimum 20 amp rated devices.
(C) Delete Article 320, Armored Cable: Type AC
(D) Delete Article 322, Flat Cable Assemblies: Type FC
(E) Delete Article 324, Flat Conductor Cable: Type FCC
(F) Delete Article 326, Integrated Gas Spacer Cable: Type IGS
(G) Article 330, Metal - Clad Cable: Type MC, is amended as follows:
1. Delete 330.10 and replace with:
330.10 Uses Permitted. Type MC cable shall be permitted to be used in exposed and concealed locations in lengths not in excess of 6 feet, unless otherwise approved by the Authority Having Jurisdiction.
(H) Delete Article 332, Mineral - Insulated, Metal Sheathed Cable: Type MI
(I) Delete Article 334, Nonmetallic - Sheathed Cable: Types NM, NMC, NMS
(J) Delete Article 336, Power and Control Tray Cable: Type TC
(K) Article 338, Service-Entrance Cables: Types SE and USE, is amended as follows:
1. Delete Type SE.
(L) Delete Article 340, Underground Feeder and Branch - Circuit Cable: Type UF
(M) Article 348, Flexible Metal Conduit: Type FMC, is amended as follows:
1. Delete 348.10 and replace with:
348.10 Uses Permitted. Type FMC shall be permitted to be used in exposed and concealed locations in lengths not in excess of 6 feet, unless otherwise approved by the Authority Having Jurisdiction.
(N) Article 350, Liquidtight Flexible Metal Conduit: Type LFMC
1. Delete 350.10 and replace with:
350.10 Uses Permitted. Type LFMC shall be permitted to be used in exposed and concealed locations in lengths not in excess of 6 feet, unless otherwise approved by the Authority Having Jurisdiction.
(O) Article 352, Rigid Polyvinyl Chloride Conduit: Type PVC, is amended as follows:
1. Delete 352.10 (A) Concealed, unless otherwise approved by the Authority Having Jurisdiction.
2. Delete 352.10 (F) Exposed, unless otherwise approved by the Authority Having Jurisdiction.
(P) Delete Article 354, Nonmetallic Underground Conduit with Conductors: Type NUCC
(Q) Delete Article 355, Reinforced Thermosetting Resin Conduit: Type RTRC
(R) Article 356, Liquidtight Flexible Nonmetallic Conduit: Type LFNC
1. Delete 356.10 and replace with:
356.10 Uses Permitted. Type LFNC shall be permitted to be used in exposed and concealed locations in lengths not in excess of 6 feet for residential use only, unless otherwise approved by the Authority Having Jurisdiction.

(CC) Article 410.16 Luminaires, Lampholders, and Lamps is amended as follows:
1. Insert: A luminaire shall be installed in all storage space over 5 square feet in area.
2. Insert: Luminaires in storage spaces with a depth greater than 28 inches shall be controlled by a wall switch.
(DD) Annex H, Administration and Enforcement, is hereby adopted and amended as follows:
1. Modify 80.2 Definitions as follows:
Authority Having Jurisdiction: Village of Lisle
Electrical Inspector: An individual authorized by the Village of Lisle
2. Delete 80.15 Electrical Board
3. Delete 80.19 (E) and replace with:
80.19 (E) Fees. Fees shall be paid by the permit applicant prior to permit issuance in accordance with Title 1, Chapter 20, of the Lisle Village Code. Permit fees shall be double for any person who commences work before obtaining necessary permits.
4. Delete 80.19 (F) 3 and replace with:
80.19 (F) 3. No portion of the electrical installation shall be concealed until it has been inspected and approved by the authority having jurisdiction.
5. Modify 80.19 (F) Inspection and Approvals as follows:
Insert: All wiring shall be installed prior to rough inspection.
6. Modify 80.19 (F) Inspection and Approvals as follows:
Insert: Electrical contractor or authorized individual shall be present at the time of inspection to provide access to all electrical equipment or electrical installation.
7. Delete 80.23 (B) and replace with:
80.23 (B) Penalties. Any person violating any of the provisions of this chapter or of the code adopted by reference herein shall, on conviction, be fined as established by Title 1, Chapter 20, of the Lisle Village Code for each offense; and every person shall be deemed guilty of a separate offense for each day such violation shall continue, and shall be subject to the penalty under this section for each and every separate offense.

13. No person shall, within the Village, install electrical conductors, equipment, and raceways; signaling and communications conductors, equipment, and raceways, or otherwise perform electrical work without possessing an electrical contractor license issued in the State of Illinois.
Exceptions:
(a) A homeowner performing electrical work on his / her primary residence.
(b) Public utilities under the jurisdiction of the Illinois Commerce Commission.
(c) Electrical contractors shall be identified on all permit applications, shall submit a copy of an electrical contractor license issued in the State of Illinois, and shall submit a letter of intent for the electrical work to be performed. (Ord. 2022-4942, 1-3-2022)
