COMMERCIAL SOLICITATION: Solicitation activities conducted by or on behalf of an entity that operates with a primary objective of making a profit.
NONCOMMERCIAL SOLICITATION: Solicitation activities conducted by or on behalf of an entity that operates without a commercial objective. Such entities include charitable, religious, political, and other not for profit organizations.
PERSON: Any individual, organization, group, association, partnership, corporation, trust or any combination thereof.
REGISTERED SOLICITOR: Any person who has obtained a valid solicitation permit, as hereinafter provided.
SERIOUS FELONIES: Any felony which involves violence, deceit, fraud or misrepresentation except for those which were committed more than ten (10) years prior to the date of the application for a permit.
SOLICITATION ACTIVITIES: Going upon any premises not owned or leased by the solicitor for the purpose of engaging in any of the following activities: opinion taking; distribution of printed information; seeking to obtain donations of money, credit, property, financial assistance or other thing of value; selling or acquiring orders or contracts for the purchase of goods, wares, merchandise, products, or services of any kind for either immediate or future delivery, by any person.
SOLICITOR: Any person who engages in solicitation activities. (Ord. 2011-4408, 10-17-2011)
