The Village of Linndale shall reimburse its elected officials who are required to attend mandatory training functions in order to legally perform duties imposed upon them by law as a result of the office which they hold. Said reimbursement shall be in an amount which is equal to the sum of the following:
(a) Reimbursement for the following out-of-pocket expenses incurred by the elected official in connection with attendance at the class or seminar: mileage at the amount per mile permitted by the Internal Revenue Service for income tax purposes; meals to, from and at the class or seminar; and hotel/motel accommodations for classes or seminars located more than 60 miles from the Village; and
(b) Additional payment to the elected official in the amount of the wages from his or her full time private employment, for each day or part of day during which he or she attends a mandatory training class or seminar, which are not paid by his or her private employer.
