(a) The occupant of each dwelling unit located within a residential building in the Village of Linndale shall be required to install at least one of the said smoke detectors near the bedroom or bedrooms of the dwelling unit and to maintain the said smoke detectors in good working order.
(b) Any occupant who willfully fails to install and maintain the smoke detectors provided to him by the Village shall be guilty of a minor misdemeanor. Each day a failure to install or maintain the smoke detectors provided to the residence continues shall be considered a separate violation of this chapter.
