138.01 ESTABLISHED.

There is hereby established a Department of Public Safety to be headed by a Director of Public Safety. The Mayor shall also serve as the Director of Public Safety. The Director of Public Safety shall be the executive head of the Police Department, and the chief administrative authority of the Building Department. The Police Department and Building Department shall be included as subdepartments of the Department of Public Safety, and shall be under the control and supervision of the Director of Public Safety.
