§ 31.35 FIRE CHIEF AND ASSISTANT CHIEFS; APPOINTMENT AND DUTIES.
   (A)   Appointment; term. The Fire Chief and the First and Second Assistant Fire Chiefs shall be elected by the members of the Volunteer Fire Department for a term of two years. The election is to be held in the fire station at the first regular Fire Department meeting in December of even-numbered years, and these elections shall be subject to and terms to commence upon confirmation by the Village Board.
   (B)   Duties. The Fire Chief and Assistant Fire Chiefs shall have active charge of the Fire Department and perform the following duties:
      (1)   Develop and maintain emergency response capability;
      (2)   Respond to, act upon, investigate, and keep records of all fire calls in the village; and
      (3)   Prepare an annual report of Fire Department activities.
