Every officer of the village, whether elected or appointed, before entering upon his or her duties and within five days of his or her election or appointment or notice thereof, shall take the oath of office prescribed by law and file that oath in the office of the Village Clerk-Treasurer. The Village Clerk- Treasurer shall file his or her oath in the office of the Village President. Any person being reelected or reappointed to the same office shall take and file an official oath for each term of service.
