§ 10.23 PROVISIONS CONSIDERED AS CONTINUATIONS OF EXISTING ORDINANCES.
   The provisions appearing in this code, so far as they are the same as ordinances adopted prior to this code and included herein, shall be considered as continuations thereof and not as new enactments.

§ 10.24 OFFICIAL CODE.
   This code shall be the official code of the city.

§ 10.99 GENERAL PENALTY.
   (A)   Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of any section or division of this code of ordinances for which no other penalty is provided, or failing or neglecting or refusing to comply with same, shall, upon conviction, be guilty of a Class 3 misdemeanor and subject to a fine as set forth in the fee schedule or imprisonment not to exceed 30 days, and each day that any of the provisions of this code of ordinances are violated shall constitute a separate offense.

   (B)   Any city ordinance listed or referenced in the code that would result in a criminal infraction or misdemeanor is provided and punishable by G.S. § 14-4. The maximum fine, term of imprisonment or infraction penalty to be imposed for a violation would be an amount of money or number of days less than the maximum imposed by G.S. § 14-4.
