(a) The office of Mechanical Inspector, heretofore established as the office of the Heating and Refrigeration Inspector, the duties of which shall be under the supervision of the Superintendent of the Building Department, is hereby retained.
(b) The compensation for the Mechanical Inspector shall be sixty-five percent of the permit fees collected by the City for inspections. The balance of such permit fees shall be retained by the City. He or she shall also receive twenty-five dollars ($25.00) for each appearance in court on behalf of the City.
(c) The Mechanical Inspector shall receive no other compensation and no fringe benefits, except that he or she shall receive sixty-five percent of the equivalent of the permit fee in City inspections in those cases where no permit fee is actually paid.
