862.03 LICENSE ISSUANCE; TERMS; FEE; BOND.
   The Mayor may from time to time grant under his or her hand and Official Seal, to any suitable person, a license authorizing such person to carry on the business of a pawnbroker, subject to this chapter. The license shall designate the particular place in the City where such person shall carry on the business, and no person receiving such a license shall carry on the business in any place other than the one designated in the license. The license shall be in effect for one year from the date of issuance, unless sooner revoked for cause, and shall not be transferable. Before any such license is issued, the person applying therefor shall pay to the City Treasurer an annual license fee of five hundred dollars ($500.00), and shall give a bond to the City in the penal sum of three thousand dollars ($3,000), with at least two sureties, to be approved by Council, conditioned for the faithful performance of the duties and obligations pertaining to the business and for the payment of all costs and damages incurred by violation of this chapter.
