632.02 DEFINITIONS.
   As used in this chapter, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:
   (a)   "Commercial handbill" means and includes any printed or written matter, sample, device, dodger, circular, leaflet, pamphlet, paper, booklet or other printed or otherwise reproduced original or copy of any matter or literature which:
      (1)   Advertises for sale any merchandise, product, commodity or thing;
      (2)   Directs attention to any business, mercantile or commercial establishment, or other activity, for the purpose of either directly or indirectly promoting the interests thereof by sales; or
      (3)   While containing reading matter other than advertising matter, is predominantly and essentially an advertisement and is distributed or circulated for advertising purposes or for the private benefit and gain of any person so engaged as an advertiser or distributor.
   (b)   "Newspaper" means and includes any newspaper of general circulation as defined by general law, any newspaper duly entered with the Post Office Department of the United States in accordance with Federal statute or regulation, any newspaper filed and recorded with any recording officer as provided by general law and any periodical or current magazine regularly published with not less than four issues per year and sold to the public.
   (c)   "Noncommercial handbill" means and includes any printed or written matter, sample, device, dodger, circular, leaflet, pamphlet, newspaper, magazine, paper booklet or other printed or otherwise reproduced original or copy of any matter or literature not included in the definition of a commercial handbill or newspaper, with the exception of political and religious literature.
   (d)   "Private premises" means and includes any dwelling, house, building or other structure designed or used either wholly or in part for private residential purposes, whether inhabited or vacant, and includes any yard, grounds, walk, driveway, porch, steps, vestibule or mailbox belonging or appurtenant to such dwelling, house, building or other structure.
   (e)   "Public place" means and includes any and all streets, boulevards, avenues, lanes, alleys or other public ways, and any and all public parks, squares, spaces, plazas, grounds and buildings.
