486.16 SUBMISSION OF TRANSPORTATION SAFETY RELATED DOCUMENTS TO THE MOTOR CARRIER DIVISION OF THE DEPARTMENT OF STATE POLICE.
   (a)   Motor carriers shall, upon demand, submit all their transportation safety related documents, such as all records and information pertaining to any accident, drivers' records of duty status, bills of lading, shipping records, driver time and payroll records, driver qualification records, and vehicle maintenance and equipment records, for inspection or copying during regular business hours, to any motor carrier officer displaying a valid identification card of the Michigan Motor Carrier Division of the Department of State Police.
   (b)   The following is a facsimile of the identification card of the Motor Carrier Division of the Department of State Police:
 
   (c)   A carrier operating within the City with main offices in a state or province other than the State of Michigan shall submit all transportation safety related documents as outlined in subsection (a) hereof for inspection and copying within ten working days after receiving formal notification requesting the documents.
