486.06 PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS OF DRIVERS.
   (a)   A person shall not drive a motor vehicle unless he or she is physically qualified to do so and, except as provided by this chapter, has on his or her person the original, or a photographic copy, of a medical examiner's certificate that he or she is physically qualified to drive a motor vehicle.
   (b)   Except as provided in this chapter, the following persons must be medically examined and certified in accordance with 49 C.F.R. 391.43 as physically qualified to drive a motor vehicle:
      (1)   Any person who has not been medically examined and certified as physically qualified to drive a motor vehicle.
      (2)   Any driver who has not been medically examined and certified as qualified to drive a motor vehicle during the preceding twenty-five months.
      (3)   Any driver whose ability to perform his or her normal duties has been impaired by a physical or mental injury or disease.
