298.02 TRAFFIC AND ORDINANCE BUREAU.
   Pursuant to M.C.L.A. 600.8391 and 600.8395 Council hereby authorizes and approves the establishment of a Traffic and Ordinance Bureau within the District Court, effective December 1, 1977. Such Bureau may be administered by clerks or other personnel of the District Court authorized to accept pleas of guilty or responsibility for traffic and ordinance offenses, as authorized by the Judges of the Court, when the maximum permissible punishment thereunder does not exceed ninety days in jail or a fine of five hundred dollars ($500.00), or both, except for violations of Sections 625, 625b, 626, 626b and 904 of Act 300 of the Public Acts of 1949, as amended (M.C.L.A. 257.625, 257.625b, 257.626, 257.626b and 257.904), or local ordinances corresponding thereto. In addition, such clerks shall collect fines and costs as prescribed by the Judges.
