The right of a person to an annuity, to a pension, to the return of a member's contribution or any other benefits, to the annuity itself, to the annuity pension return of a member's contributions, or to any other benefit provided hereunder and optional benefit, and any right accrued or accruing to any person under this chapter, shall not be subject to execution, garnishment, attachment, the operation of bankruptcy or insolvency law or other process of law whatsoever, and shall be unassignable, except as specifically provided for herein.
