294.25 ASSIGNMENT OR GARNISHMENT OF BENEFITS.
   The right of a pension to an annuity, a pension or a retirement allowance; to the return of accumulated contributions, the annuity, the pension or the retirement allowance itself; any optional benefit; any other right accrued or accruing to any member, retiree or beneficiary under this chapter; and the moneys belonging to the retirement system, shall not be subject to execution, garnishment or attachment; to the operation of bankruptcy or insolvency law; or to any other process of law whatsoever, and shall be unassignable, except as specifically provided in this chapter. However, the City may set off for any claim arising from embezzlement by or fraud of a member.
