(a) Continuation of Office. The office of Deputy Director of Personnel and Purchasing, heretofore existing, is hereby continued.

(b) Appointment. The office of Deputy Director of Personnel and Purchasing shall be considered in the unclassified service of the City, and the duties of such office shall be in addition to the classified duties performed by this person under the City Charter.

(c) Powers and Duties. The Deputy Director of Personnel and Purchasing shall have the powers and duties of the Director of Personnel and Purchasing, which duties shall be exercised in the absence or in the event of disability of the Director.

(d) Compensation. The salary of the Deputy Director of Personnel and Purchasing shall be determined from time to time by Council, and he or she shall receive no fringe benefits or overtime.
Such salary shall be paid in equal payments on the regular paydays established for classified employees of the City.
