Pursuant to M.C.L.A. 168.664c, at the odd-year general election in 1971, and every two years thereafter, there shall be elected a Mayor, one City Clerk, one City Treasurer and six Councilpersons who shall hold office until the third Monday in November of the second year following their election. The terms of office of all elective officers shall begin on the third Monday in November. All elective officers shall, after their several terms have expired, continue to hold office until their successors are elected, qualify and enter upon the duties of their offices.
