§ 452.15 LOADING ZONES.
   (a)   Commercial. The City Engineer shall cause to be designated by the erection of appropriate signs thereon, certain commercial loading zones along certain streets in order to effect the expeditious loading and unloading of materials where such loading zones are determined to be necessary by such Engineer in the interest of the public. When appropriate signs are erected and maintained therefor, no person shall stop, stand or park a vehicle for any purpose other than for the purpose of such loading and unloading of materials and in no case shall the stop for loading or unloading of materials exceed 30 minutes, provided, however, that the provisions of this section with reference to commercial loading zones shall not apply on Sundays. Such zones shall be known as commercial loading zones and shall be used only by operators of trucks. However, an operator of a vehicle other than a truck may use such a zone for such purpose upon obtaining from the City Engineer a written permit authorizing him to use such vehicle in such loading zone. The permit may be issued by the City Engineer for any period of time but shall expire on December 31 of each year, unless properly renewed. No charge shall be made for the issuance of such permit but the City Engineer shall have the right to cancel the same at any time when, in his opinion, the interest of the public requires the same. Such permit shall be prominently displayed on the vehicle when it is lawfully within such loading zone.
(Adopting Ordinance)
   (b)   Passenger. An area shall be designated as a passenger loading zone and, when appropriate signs are erected and maintained thereon, it shall be used for the sole purpose of loading and unloading passengers entering and leaving vehicles, parking being prohibited at all times. This area shall be designated on the Traffic Control Map in conformity with Sections 406.08 through 406.10.
